DIY Coffee Exfoliating Scrub

After a long summer of drying heat and ocean water, or even just spending all your time in the air conditioning, your skin could use a little care. Try this DIY coffee exfoliating scrub to leave your skin feeling baby soft! The best part is, you probably already have these ingredients in your home!

To make this DIY Coffee Exfoliating Scrub, combine the following:
  • 1 cup of coffee grounds
  • a pinch of coarse sea salt
  • a few squeezes (a little under 1/4 cup) of your favorite body wash

It’s super easy to make this exfoliating scrub and body wash, and it works super well! To use the exfoliating scrub, just massage it in to your skin in the shower. Do this for about 30 seconds over each area you want to exfoliate. If you want the scrub to be more moisturizing, you can add a tablespoon or two of coconut oil, or use a moisturizing body wash. I used a moisturizing wash, and it was a perfect combination! If the coarse sea salt is too rough for you, try sugar or a finer ground salt. Even the coffee alone will work well to exfoliate!

My favorite trick with this scrub is to help shaving my legs. First, I shave my legs. Then, I use the exfoliating scrub for about 30 seconds on each and wash it off completely. Then, I shave my legs again. When I do this trick, I find that my shave is smoother and it lasts longer. It also decreases razor burn and redness for me. I use it about twice every month, but it can be used as often as necessary. I wouldn’t suggest using it more than weekly, however, as it could become irritating to your skin.
