DIY Hair Mask for Summer
It’s summer! And since it’s so hot out, it’s the perfect time to take a trip to the ocean or just hop in the pool to cool off. However, the salt and chlorine can wreak havoc on your hair. Treat yourself and your hair with an easy DIY hair mask! This is my favorite DIY deep conditioning hair mask. The avocado and oils help to restore moisture in your hair, and give it a beautiful shine. This mask can be a little messy, so watch out!
The Hair Mask:
1 avocado, mashed as well as possible
1 tsp. olive oil
2 tsp. coconut oil
Mix all together in bowl to combine the mask.
Shampoo your hair as normal. Then, apply the hair mask generously to the tips of your hair and all the way up to your scalp. Massage it in, and you can either put on a shower cap or wrap your hair in plastic wrap to keep from getting the hair mask everywhere. Let it soak in for up to 20 minutes, and then rinse out with water. After that, enjoy your healthy, shiny hair!
I use this mask about once a month or two, if I run out of my store bought kind. It isn’t as conditioning as some you may find in stores, but it’s good to know it is all natural ingredients! Some people also suggest adding apple cider vinegar to the mask to help your scalp, but I thought that might be too drying. If the coconut oil makes your hair too greasy or shiny, just shampoo! If you have a good hair mask recipe (or store bought mask!) that you like, please let me know, I’d love to try it!
