Maybelline City Mini Palette Review
Maybelline recently launched a new mini palette called the Maybelline City Mini Palette. It comes with 6 shadow shades, and there are 8 palette options to choose from. Thanks to Influenster, I got to try out the Maybelline City Mini Palette in “Matte About Town” free to review. Here are my thoughts on the product!
City Mini Palette Packaging
To start off with, I love the packaging of this product! There is a thin paper wrap around the palette with then color and images. Then, the actual palette is a sturdy black plastic with a clear plastic over the shadows. Although this is standard for many full sized palettes, having it on a mini palette is especially nice for travel or to keep in your bag. The back offers a suggestion for how to apply the product. Each of the shadows do not have names, but I have the palette in 480 Matte About Town
City Mini Palette Colors and Pigmentation
The first color is the white base color in the long tray. This color is actually one of my favorites! I have fair skin, and it was the perfect base color! If you have darker skin, I think it would look good as a highlight or inner corner color. The two lid colors are peachy browns, and one is slightly lighter than the other. I think the lighter color is a beautiful lid shade, and the darker blends nicely with the crease colors. The crease colors are mauve shades, and I think they would look beautiful on all skin colors! The liner color is a deep burgundy. Over all, I love these colors and I was able to make a whole eye look that I would wear for day and one for night just using this palette.
The formula of this shadow is one of the best I’ve seen. First, the colors are very pigmented. One or two swipes is a good amount of color, and it is buildable. Secondly, they blend easily, which I think is a huge plus. They do move around just a little on the eyelid during the day, but if you like a blended look anyway, it consistently looks beautiful! There is minimal fallout, which surprised me for how soft the powders are. My favorite part about these shadows is that although they are matte, they still look good together without a shimmer shadow! I also believe mixing the Matte About Town colors with other Maybelline City Mini Palettes would look gorgeous!
Overall, I LOVED this palette! For the price, which is $9.99, I would absolutely purchase it again, and buy the other palettes. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a portable eye makeup palette with all the colors they need! Again, I received this product free for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own!
